Design
The reverse of this Silver coin mimics the nostalgic interface of a vintage graphics software, with a pixelated reinterpretation of Botticelli's “The Birth of Venus” emerging from a sea of pixels like a forgotten memory loading on an old screen. This design is also a heartfelt tribute to the iconic “Birth of Venus” coin from the acclaimed “Great Micromosaic” series, reimagined here through the lens of early digital creativity. The toolbar on the left and the classic color palette below complete the retro computer screen, evoking a time when art was raw, personal, and wonderfully imperfect. At the bottom of the reverse, the inscriptions: “For Help, click Back to the Pixel” – a poetic nod to simpler days, revealing the name of the series, “2 Oz .999” – the weight of the coin and the fineness of Silver, and “2025” – the year of issue. The obverse is equally evocative, shaped like the back of an old monitor, complete with ports, vents, and power plugs. In the center, the Public Seal of Niue shines like a manufacturer's logo, framed by the inscription: “2 Dollars” – the face value. At the top of the obverse, once again, the inscription: “2025”, anchoring the piece in time while transporting us to the past.
